The park sits on 3,050-acre Taylorsville Lake, where anglers can vie for bass, bluegill and crappie. The 1,200-acre park encompasses some of the most beautiful riding country around.
Waterford Community Park is an 18 acre facility located five miles west of Taylorsville on Highway 44 and includes a picnic shelter, playground, restrooms, .45 mile walking track, fitness stations, basketball court, soccer fields and softball fields.
Ray Jewell Memorial Park is an 18 acre facility on Ray Road off of Highway 44 East across from Spencer County High in Taylorsville and includes a .55 mile walking track, fitness stations, basketball court, playground, baseball and soccer fields.

May
Kentucky Gourd Show
Held the third weekend in May, the show offers gourd craft booths of all kinds, classes, demonstrations, gourds and gourd crafted items for sale. 477-8543.
Main Street Farmers Market
Beginning the first of the month, the Main Street Farmers Market offers farm-fresh produce each Saturday through October, beginning at 8 a.m. near the Spencer County Sheriff's Department Parking Lot.
June
Light Up Salt River
Held the last Saturday in June, Light Up Salt River includes a festival with arts and craft booths, antiques, quilts, craft demonstrations, entertainment, food, a hot air balloon race and fireworks.

Spencer County Fair
Held the middle of July at the fairgrounds. Rides, horse show, arts and crafts exhibits, beauty pageants, and truck and tractor pulls. 477-2217.
Spencer County Homecoming
Festivities begin with a traditional chili supper, parade, homecoming contest, Miss and Mr. contest, game booths, arts and crafts booths, country and gospel music and competitive events for adults and children. The chili supper is sponsored by the Senior Class at the Spencer County High School and draws alumni who return to support their alma mater.

Spencer County High School FFA sponsors a farm toy show at the high school with farm toys from around the country and local arts and crafts showcased. Held the second weekend in December.
Christmas on Main Street
Held the second Friday in December. Offers free children's activities, live entertainment, parade, decorations, caroling and carriage rides.
Santa's Visit
Tree decoration contests and visits with Santa are offered. Second Friday and Saturday in December.
Christmas Home Tour
Tours of selected homes decorated for the holidays are offered. Second Sunday in December.
